3255687 - Unable to start the system after updating or downgrading the SAP kernel

Symptom

The SAP ABAP system cannot be started.

The Dispatcher trace file (dev_disp) is not updated.

However, the following error (or similar) is logged at the "stderrX" file (where "X" is normally the number zero):

(...PID...) New Child Process created.
(...PID...) Starting local Command:
 Command:  dw.sapSID_InstanceName
           pf=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_InstanceName_hostname
Could not load program dw.sapSID_InstanceName:
 Dependent module /usr/sap/SID/InstanceName/exe/[library file] could not be loaded.
 The s_scnptr or s_size field of the
   .loader section header is invalid.
Examine file headers with the 'dump -ohv' command.

* "library file" is the name of an SAP kernel library file, which is missing on the SAP kernel folder
