3256629 - Initiation of Lease Posting Run Message: 'As per data selection, there is nothing to process for initiation run'

Symptom

You have created a new Lease Posting Run with control parameter as Initiation. You have a valid lease contract, but the run returns the following message: 'As per data selection, there is nothing to process for initiation run'

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Lease Contract Management work center.
  2. Go to Lease Posting Run.
  3. Select the relevant lease run for Initiation.
  4. View the log details.
  5. Go to Messages tab.

The following Information message is displayed 'As per data selection, there is nothing to process for initiation run'. No opening postings are made for your contract.

Cause

The relevance of the lease object for the set of books in the lease contract is defined as an Expense. Therefore, since this is defined as an expense, no initiation postings are generated.

You can check the relevance type of the lease object and set of books as follows:

  1. Go to Lease Contract Management work center.
  2. Go to Lease Contract view.
  3. Open the relevant lease contract.
  4. Go to Lease Object tab.
  5. Go to Set of Books Relevance tab.

For each set of books assigned, refer to the Relevance column.

Resolution

The Initiation run is relevant for the set of books with relevance as Finance Lease.

The relevance being set as expense means that all lease payments are posted to expense accounts and can be displayed in the Clearing section.

Therefore, if the relevance as Expense is correctly defined, you need to create a new lease posting run with control parameter as clearing. This can be done as follows:

  1. Go to Lease Contract Management work center.
  2. Go to Lease Posting Run.
  3. Create a new lease run with all relevant parameters.
  4. Define the Control Parameter as Clearing.
  5. Execute the run.

After that, you see the corresponding postings in the Clearing section of the run.
