3258030 - VAT Registration Number Validation Logic for Spain

You are working with VAT registration numbers for Spain country. You wonder how this logic is implemented in C4C.

SAP Cloud for Customer

The C4C implemented logic for this check is:

1. It should be of 11 characters length;
2. No spaces in between;
3. First two characters should be 'ES';
4. Third character should be a letter or number;
5. Positions 4 to 10 in the 11 character VAT number should always be numeric.
6. Last character is the check digit (which can be a letter also).

This logic is applied if the in Business Configuration Fine-Tuning Activity "Countries/Regions" for 'Spain' entry the Tax fields check is enabled.
