3258046 - Error during key figure creation: Instance with the same key already exists

You are creating a new key figure but on saving you face the following error:

Save failed

Instance with the same key already exists

SAP Business byDesign

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics and the view Design Key Figures.
2. Click New.
3. In step 1, enter a key figure name and select the required data source.
4. Choose the type "restricted key figure".
5. Go to step 2 and enter your formula here.
6. Click Save.

You get the above errors.

There is an issue in the parameter-handling, when a date-parameter is used multiple times.

For example, you may have used "Today" several times in your formula. This can happen with any date parameter.

We are currently checking if / how this can be improved in future releases, however there is a workaround:

Create your key figure with a formula where the date parameter is used only once. Save this key figure.

When you edit it again, you can change the formula as required, i.e. the date can be used as many times as needed.
