Symptom
When checking the reporting apps for future years, no depreciation is displayed. Or in the Manage Fixed Assets app FAA_MD390 is displayed.
Environment
S/4 HANA Public Cloud Edition.
Cause
The planning horizon has not been set and the company code has not had a recalculation of depreciation.
Resolution
- Set the planning horizon via the "Make Company Code Settings - Asset Accounting-Specific" (F7312) for up to 50 years.
- Afterwards perform a recalculation of depreciation in the Schedule Asset Accounting Jobs app.
The way you define the planning horizon can significantly affect performance as well as the required memory space. This is because planned values for future fiscal years are calculated and saved when you define the planning horizon. The amount of data processed affects the runtime of the individual business transactions (for example, in the asset master record and when posting transactions) as well as the amount of memory space required. Therefore, you should only define the planning horizon (by entering a value larger than zero) for those ledgers for which you actually require the corresponding reporting. You should also specify the smallest number of years possible for the planning horizon.
