3259509 - DBCC CHECKSTORAGE hangs on archive database with single worker process - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • After loading a compressed database dump onto an archive database and running dbcc checkstorage against it, the command hangs.
  • Parallelism is disabled.
  • dbcc stacktrace (<checkstorage_spid>) on parent process reports the following calls:
    upyield
    pchk_pt_get_work_1   
    pchk_pt_work_done   
    pchk_pt_wait       
    pchk_pt_do_check     
    checkstorage    
    exec_dbcc          
    s_execute
    sequencer        
    tdsrecv_language
    conn_hdlr

  • dbcc stacktrace (<checkstorage_worker_thread>) reports the following calls:
    upsleepgeneric       
    uwrecv                   
    pchk_scan_main           
    pchk_wt_main         
    kw_exec                  
    kw_member
