3260119 - CCO does not start with error No Persistence provider for EntityManager

Symptom

During startup, SAP Customer Checkout fails to find the database. The launch of CCO aborts with an error:

[Thread-0] ERROR java.lang.Thread$UncaughtExceptionHandler - Thread (Thread-0) of class (class java.lang.Thread) terminated by exception
javax.persistence.PersistenceException: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named XYZ

[main] ERROR java.lang.Thread$UncaughtExceptionHandler - Thread (main) of class (class java.lang.Thread) terminated by exception
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.sap.scco.ap.services.IDatabase.createEntityManager()" because "this.dataBase" is null
