Symptom
When trying to upload migration file for Fixed Assets, the system throws below error message:
'Undefined Date Format
Some date entries are in error; enter dates in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS before initiating the migration'
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Configuration work center.
- Select Implementation Projects view and select Open Activity list button.
- Open Migration of Accounting Transaction Data.
- Select Migrate accounting transaction data using the migration tool.
- Click Execute migration.
- Click Upload File of Migration object "Fixed Assets".
At this point, system will throw the info/warning message:
'Undefined Date Format
Some date entries are in error; enter dates in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS before initiating the migration'.
If you ignore it, by clicking OK, and proceed to Process File, the file validation will fail with error message:
'File validation failed. Create an incident.'
Cause
The cause for the issue is that the date used in some of the fields (for example Initial Acquisition Date, Capitalization Date, etc.) is invalid.
Resolution
The date entered in any data cell of migration file should be valid.
Day = 00, Month = 00 or Year = 0000 is not valid.
Change the date and try migration again.
