• Want to redirect the ASE audit records to the operation system(OS) syslog file.
  
  
• Try to set it by changing the configuration information in "audit trail type"(Linux Only)
  
  
• The documented syntax in, Enable or Disable Auditing, is:
  sp_configure "audit trail type" [{"table" | "syslog"}]
  
  
• When trying to set this parameter and it reports error:
  sp_configure 'audit trail type', "syslog"

  Msg 249, Level 16, State 1:
  Server 'XXX', Procedure 'sp_configure':
  Syntax error during implicit conversion of VARCHAR value 'syslog' to a INT field.
  (return status = -6)
