3262089 - Signature verification of metadata was not successful for SAML2 Connection with SAP IAS

When setting up SAML2 between your on premise system and SAP IAS, the configuration is failing at the step where the trusted provider is added:

• "Metadata is signed with the following certificate: CN=xxxxxxxx.accounts.ondemand.com, O=SAP-SE, C=DE.
  Specify a local copy of the signing certificate to ensure trust."

After selecting and uploading the certificate you see the error:

Signature verification of metadata was not successful.
