Symptom
During check Available-To-Promise (ATP), you find the confirmed quantity still shows 3 decimals for custom Unit of Measure(UoM), even if it is configured as zero.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Outbound Logistics Control Work Center.
- Navigate to Customer Demand View.
- Select the Customer Demand XXX.
- Navigate to Schedule Lines Sub-tab, you will note that the confirmed quantity shows 3 decimals with the custom UoM you created.
Cause
Open the master data of the confirmed product, you would find following information.
- A Quantity Conversion between a standard UoM and the custom UoM.
- Base/ Inventory Valuation UoM is the standard UoM.
- Sales UoM is the custom one.
The confirmed quantity in some cases to have more than 3 decimal places, the issue is caused by a rounding to 3 decimal places during ATP checking.
As the consequence, the system creates a warehouse task with an additional line item for this product and the open quantity is the excess quantity caused by the rounding.
This is a known limitation in the live cache (planning and ATP).
Resolution
Please reject the redundancy decimals during confirming task as a workaround.
