Symptom
The admin revised an item and would like the old revision to be a substitute for the new one. After following the revision wizard and copying the substitute list from the previous item revision, the system is not granting the credit to the users as expected.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Access the item which should be revised >
- Navigate to Action > Revise >
- Follow the revision wizard and select "Yes" to copy the substitute list in step 2, the question "Do you wish to copy the substitute relationships for this item to the new revision?"
- End the revision wizard >
- Assigned new revision to users >
- Notice that the system does not grant completion to the new item revision, although the users completed the items listed in the substitutes list.
Cause
Currently, this is the system design and expected behavior. When the substitute list is copied from the previous revision while creating a new revision for the item (in the revision wizard step 2.), then the system does not trigger the background job responsible for reviewing and granting the completion status.
Resolution
If the substitute list is copied from the previous revision while creating a new revision for the item, to adjust it, the admin needs to perform the following steps:
-
- Navigate to the new item revision >
- Access Substitutes list >
- Remove the item which should grant the completion from the list >
- Select Remove historical records > Ok >
- (execute job if we get a popup) >
- Add the item with revision as a substitute for the new item revision again.
The steps above should then trigger the background job that reviews the substitute list for the items and grant the completion.
