3265430 - Approval status changes to "Not Relevant" despite prior release of sales order

Symptom

The approval status of the sales orders is somehow changed from "Approved" to "Not Relevant".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Approval status of an already released sales order changes from "Approved" to "Not Relevant" when later modified in a way that no longer requires approval.

Resolution

To avoid such changes in approval status, contact local developers or consultants to write custom logic in the BAdI "SD_APM_SET_APPROVAL_REASON" to include more checking points and set the relevant approval reason when the sales order is changed after being approved.

Notice: Once a sales document is approved, approvers can no longer reject it. SAP strongly recommends only changing approved sales documents in exceptional cases. An approval also triggers subsequent processes like deliveries and billing. Keep in mind that changing any approved documents will impact these subsequent processes.
