Symptom
- In a Custom MDF Object (Portlet or Manage Data) one or more picklist values are missing
- In a Custom MDF Object (Portlet or Manage Data) one or more picklist values are duplicated
- You can't see a picklist value, unless you type it in the dropdown
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Employee Profile or Manage Data
- Search for the Custom MDF Object which contains the affected picklist
- Open the picklist dropdown and see a duplicated value or missing values
- Type the missing picklist value in the dropdown and you can see it now
Cause
The Display Order in the Picklist is set as "custom", however the field "Sort Order" is not defined for each picklist value.
System fills the "Sort Order" field with a random number for each picklist value.
Resolution
You must add a unique value in each Picklist Value to sort the order this value will display in the dropdown.
- Go to Picklist Center
- Search for the affected picklist
- Open each value and add the order values in "Sort Order" field (e.g. 0, 10, 20, 30 and so on)
Another option is to change the "Display Order" in the picklist to "Numeric" or "Alphabetical"
