3267497 - E-Mails with "Open" status in C4C system

Symptom

E-Mail status is showing as "Open" in Cloud for Customer after synchronizing from client-side Outlook add-in.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the e-mail in Outlook
  2. Click "Add E-Mail".
  3. Click "Add Reference" to reference the e-mail to an account in C4C.
  4. Search for the account you want to reference this e-mail to and select the account from the list.
  5. Click "Add Reference".
  6. Click "Submit".
  7. Outlook is synchronizing automatically.
  8. The e-mail is shown in C4C under "Activities" > "E-mail" for the referenced account.
  9. The status of the e-mail is "Completed" (Expected)
  1. Delete the e-mail in C4C (as it was identified that this was the wrong account).
  2. Open Outlook again and reference the same e-mail to a different account using client-side Outlook add-in, following steps 1 to 7 above.
  3. Go back into C4C and open the e-mail in the newly/correctly referenced account.
  4. See Status is "Open" (Not Expected)

  1. Do not delete the e-mail in C4C.
  2. Open up respective e-mail in Outlook.
  3. Click "Add E-Mail".
  4. Click "Add Reference" to reference the e-mail to an account in C4C.
  5. Search for the correct account you want to reference this e-mail to and select the account from the list.
  6. Click "Add Reference".
  7. Click "Submit".
  8. Outlook is synchronizing automatically.
