Symptom

  • Exception Aggregation on Public Account Dimension does not work in Story in SAP Analytics Cloud
  • The measure still use Sum to calcuate the aggregated values.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud Wave 2022.15.20

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon SAC.
  2. Create a new type model.
  3. Click one dimension, set Exception Aggregation Type as Last, Exception Aggregation Dimensions as Date.
  4. Create a story based on the model, accounts continue to sum the details of the quarters and years.

Cause

The calculation is not set in the model level.

Resolution

When setting Exception Aggregation, it is necessary to set in the model level instead of in the Public Account Dimension.

  1. Access you Model Preferences and go to Structure Priority
  2. Change the Prioritize properties and calculations from Measures to Account and save the model
  3. Go back to the story and note that the Exception Aggregation is working as defined.
