3268287 - No employees are available to be chosen while creating a Business User - Maintain Business User

Symptom

There are no Employees to be chosen when creating a Business User. 

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 3-System Landscape (Starter System or Development System) 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to "Maintain Business Users" app
  2. Click on "New"
  3. No employees are available to be chosen, the pop-up view is showing "No data" message

Cause

To be able to create a user, the worker has to be known to the system. The initial admin user is provided by SAP to the customer for the first system setup tasks. If the worker is not available in the system, this means that there are required steps are not completed in the Onboarding Process.

Resolution

For Starter System:

  1. Check SAP Help Portal | SAP S/4HANA Cloud Starter System: Customizing Tenant and Development Tenant and complete the step by step provided in the documentation.
  2. Use the initial admin user to create the business users who set up the system.

For Development System:

  1. Check Set Up the Development System (Customizing Tenant and Development Tenant) | SAP Help Portal and complete the step by step provided in the documentation.
  2. Use the initial admin user to create the business users who set up the system.

If the required steps are not completed in the Onboarding guide and the app is not available in the system, it is necessary to complete the prerequisites described in the documentation SAP Help Portal | Development System - Steps for the Initial Admin User in the Development System.

After completing these prerequisites steps, the scope items will be activated and the new Employees can be created.

After that, new Business Users can be created.
