3268883 - Cascading Picklist showing all options when the field linked to the parent picklist is hidden. - Employee Central

When editing an employee profile, a certain field is showing all the options of the cascading picklist if the field that is linked to the parent Picklist is not visible. 

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

• Field A is configured with the Picklist A, and the Field B is configured with the Picklist B.
• The Picklist A is the parent for the Picklist B.
• The Field A is not visible to the user, and the Field B shows all the options in the cascading Picklist B.

This is expected behavior.  If the user does not have the permission to see/edit the Field A, the picklist in the Field B will show all the options on the cascading Picklist B, as it was not possible to “choose” the option from the parent Picklist.

The user needs to have the correct permissions to see and edit the field that contains the Parent Picklist. 

As a workaround, the options in the Picklist B can have different label names, so the user knows which one to choose.
