3268888 - Custom email template- Where will the Reset password email in custom email template be used ?

There is a custom email template created for a specific application(for example SuccessFactors) and when a reset password is triggered from admin console, the reset password email is not triggered using the custom email template.  It is triggered with Default email template. There is a need to understand when the custom email template reset password is triggered.
