Symptom
When navigating between service confirmation items and modifying the Executive Service Employee, it is observed that for some items, the original employee is automatically updated to match the newly assigned one, even if not manually changed.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
- This behavior occurs when a hierarchy relationship is used in the originating service order from which the service confirmation is created.
- The hierarchy defined in the service order is carried over to the service confirmation. If the Executive Service Employee is changed at a higher-level item, the system automatically updates the employee field for lower-level (dependent) items based on that relationship.
- This is standard system behavior in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Resolution
- No action is required.
- This is the expected outcome when a hierarchical structure is defined in the service order. The automatic determination of the Executive Service Employee for subordinate items ensures consistency across the structure.
