Symptom

  • Future Time Accounts are being created for Rehired user, even though the Account Creation Offset [Months] is zero
  • Issue occurs with Flexible Time Accounts

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off

Reproducing the Issue

  1. User is Terminated and then Rehired, within a time period where an account was already existing. E.g. terminated Jan, 2022 and rehired May, 2022.
  2. Upon rehire, current year flexible accounts are created, e.g. May 2022 to May 2023
  3. Future flexible accounts also created, e.g. May 2023 to May 2024

Cause

  • Expected system behaviour

Resolution

The is current expected system behaviour. This splitting of time accounts can occur for Flexible time accounts, i.e. when a user is terminated and rehired in a period where an account was already existing.

There is currently no recommended workaround to prevent the future time account from getting created.
