3269350 - Contract not Created Automatically Based on Renewal Rule

The Contract has expired and based on the Renewal Rule, expecting to have a new item created automatically right after the expiry date.

SAP Business ByDesign

 Set up a Renewal Rule where a Contract should be created before the end of Contract Validity.

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Contracts view.
3. Edit Contract ABC (where ABC represents the ID of the Customer Contract).
4. Navigate to the Items tab.
5. Line item not renewed. 

To Check "Renewal and Cancellation for Customer Contracts" activity in Business configuration.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Implementation Project view.
3. Choose The Title of the Project from "All Projects".
4. Open Activity List and search for "Renewal and Cancellation for Customer Contracts".
5. Select "Maintain Renewal Rules".
6. The checkbox for Auto Renew has already been selected.
7. Observe the 'Redetermine Price' has also been selected.

To check the error of the Contract item 

1. Go to Application and User Management work center.
2. Select the Business Task Management view.
3. Filter from the "Automated Task with Errors".
4. Select the subject "Automatic Renewal of Contract Item ABC ".
5. Observe the cause of the error and Application Log given below.
6. Select and open the Application Log hyperlink.
7. Navigate to the Result Tab.
8. Select Expand All and observe the Description.

Description : 

"Permanent error during execution of automatic task
 
Error occurred while executing action RENEW on business object CUSTOMER_CONTRACT/ITEM
 
Mandatory List Price missing. List price must be maintained or a price must be entered manually.
 
Determination of tax code failed
 
Error occurred while saving the changes
 
Saving not possible due to status of document"

 
If price list is not maintained for newly calculated price date so, ideally new item is not getting created because of mandatory list price missing.
 

This is the system expected behavior.

In order to avoid this error. Maintain the price list for respective price date.
