3269803 - Unable to add new Copying Control for Sales and Billing Documents - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

When trying to add new Copying Control entry for sales documents and billing documents the options of New Entry and Copy As are greyed out.

1. Open the Manage Your Solution app
2. Choose Configure Your Solution
3. Access any of the below configuration steps:

• Define Copying Control for Sales Document to Billing Document (configuration step ID 102762)
• Define Copying Control for Delivery Document to Billing Document (configuration step ID 102763)
• Define Copying Control for Billing Document to Billing Document (configuration step ID 102764)
• Set Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document (configuration step ID 102905)
• Set Copying Control: Billing Document to Sales Document (configuration step ID 102906)
• Define Data Transfer and Copying Rqmts for Sales Document (configuration step ID 103089)

     4. Editing options New Entry and Copy As are greyed out

In case you are using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC):

1. Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration
2. In the Product-Specific Configuration phase, navigate to the Configurations Activity tab
3. Search for Copying Control configuration activity
4. Select the desired copying control activity
5. Choose Go to Activity to navigate directly to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system
6. Editing options New Entry and Copy As are greyed out

1. The pre-delivered copying control settings are set according to SAP Best Practices. Therefore, it's not possible for customers to add new copying controls in S/4HANA Cloud systems to avoid inconsistencies. If a certain copying control setting is missing and the process is not available in SAP Best Practices, it means the process is not supported.

2. The scope item containing a pre-delivered copying control setting is not yet activated in your SAP S/4HANA System.

1. If the process is not available in best practices, but it is something necessary for your business, please contact your CSM or PE to raise a feature request if needed. See the detailed process in KBA 2963059 - How to Submit Feature Requests for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Product.

2. Activate the relevant scope item to make the pre-delivered copy control entry according to SAP Best Practices available.

For example, item category TAX is available in the copying control to create the intercompany invoice (IV) for a delivery with delivery type LF with activation of scope item 1WO.
