3269863 - Error BM305 Unit & is not created in language & in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• The following error message is raised while creating a sales document: "Unit XXX is not created in language AA."
  *Where XX represents the Unit of Measure (UOM) , where AA represents the system logon language.
• The error "Unit &1 is not created in language &2" occurs in Product Master apps Create Material, Change Material or Manage Product Master Data app when maintaining unit of measurement of a product.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

A language-dependent key is not maintained for the internal unit of measure in the respective language.

The error can occur in following situations:

• The units of measurement maintained on material do not exist in customizing.
• The units of measurement maintained on material exists in customizing, but the translation in logon language is missing.

Make sure that the unit of measure exists in the Configuration Activity/SSCUI 102179 "Check Units of Measurement", in the logon language where the error arises.

To add translation to units of measurement in SSCUI 102179, do the following steps:

1. Log in in the system with a user that have "Language and Region" the same as the target language.
2. Open Configuration Activity/SSCUI 102179 "Check Units of Measurement".
3. Click on Units of Measurement
   If the dropdown menu on the right side of the button does not have the same dimension type of the target unit of measure, change it accordingly. 
4. Maintain the Meas. unit text column for such Unit of Measure.
5. Click on Save.

To see the description of different languages for such unit of measure, change the Language settings of the current profile.
