3270344 - Home Assignment Employee Status Set To 'Active' When Edited While Employee Is On Global Assignment

When adding a record to the Job Information of an employee's Home Assignment dated within the period of time they are on Global Assignment, their Home Assignment employee status changes from 'Dormant' to 'Active'.

1. Add a new record to the Job Information portlet of an employee's Home Assignment profile within the timeframe they are on Global Assignment
2. See the 'employee status' field on the new record (and subsequently the Home profile) changes from 'Dormant' to 'Active'

This is due to the event reason used in the newly-added record having an 'Employee Status' of 'Active', so the system sets the profile back to 'Active' accordingly. For data change-related event reasons, the 'employee status' should be 'No Selection' so the 'Dormant' employee status is carried forward correctly.

In order to check the 'employee status' assigned to the 'event reason' used in the record, go to 'Manage Organization, Pay And Job Structures' and search for the 'event reason' used. If the 'event reason' unintentionally has an 'employee status' assigned (e.g. 'employee status' is 'Active'), then this will need to be adjusted to 'No Selection'. The Job Information record that was previously added will then need to be removed and re-added so the 'Dormant' status propagates from the 'Away On Global Assignment' record correctly.

Because of the 'employee status' change, it is also recommended to avoid inserting any records which intentionally have an 'employee status' other than 'No Selection' on the Home profile in the timeframe that the employee is on Global Assignment. If any such changes are needed, they should be added (or at least effective-dated) after the employee has returned from their Global Assignment.
