3270700 - Goods and Service Receipt Cancellation does not go to Approval


You have set up a condition in the approval process of Goods and Services Receipt (GSR) which should trigger once a GSR is canceled, but no approval task is created.

Reproducing the Issue


You have created an extension field through adaptation mode and names it "Canceled"

Once you cancel a GSR, this field will be maintained with "X" in the GSR cancellation.


Go to work center Application and User Management

Approval process view

Search and open the active approval process for GSR

From here, you have maintained a condition as per below:

If the field "Canceled" is equal to "X", an approval task will be created for a designated approver.

During the creation of the GSR Cancellation, you will find the right approver under Approval tab in the GSR Cancellation.

However, upon releasing the GSR Cancellation, the document get posted without going to approval.


For GSR, the approved notifications are always relevant, except messages from Employee time calendar and GSR cancellation.

Therefore, GSR cancellation approval task will not be triggered by the system.


This is the expected system behaviour in the current version of Business ByDesign.

However, this scenario could be enabled through customized solution via PDI.
