3274236 - Search My Inbox by Body Content | SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Symptom

You are using My Inbox app and you're not able to search using the body of the the task or any of the item information as a search criteria.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to My Inbox app
  2. Search criteria are: priority, due date, status, creation date, my tasks, and tasks on behalf of, and task type.
  3. It is not possible searching by other terms such as mail body

Cause

Not supported feature. When you load My Inbox app, only basic WF task data are loaded such as the ones in the filter (task ID, Status, Priority, etc.). It is only when you click on the task when the details for that particular tasks are loaded. This is done for performance reasons (if we loaded 100 full WF tasks, the performance of the app would be seriously damaged). Thus, it is not possible to filter before loading the records.

Resolution

As a workaround, you can create a Custom Tile with Expert View parameter. The Expert View is a tabular representation of the standard attributes of your items in My Inbox. It can be configured as a custom tile for My Inbox using expertMode=true parameter. For more information, please check Configure My Inbox tile Parameters | SAP Help Portal

To create a Custom Tile, please follow the steps below:

  1. Access the Custom Tiles app
  2. Click on "New"
  3. The Create Tile dialog box appears
  4. Enter a title for the Custom Tile
  5. If required, enter a subtitle for the tile
  6. In the URL field, enter the browser URL without any parameters. In this case, you should use the My Inbox app URL.
  7. In the hash field, enter the default filter for values for report category, reporting entity, country/region and reporting year.
  8. In the parameters, you can add the ones based on your requirements. In this case, you should add the ExpertView parameter.
  9. Click on Save
  10. Click on Assign Catalogs button to assign the relevant Business Catalogs to the app
  11. After assigning the catalog, select the catalog and click on "Publish". When the Business Catalog status changes to Published, the user assigned to the roles containing this catalog will be able to access the Custom Tile.
