3274344 - Error handling during RPC execution - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  •  ASE server reports Signal 11 errors with stack traces during Remote Procedure Call (RPC) execution:

Current process (0xnnnnnnn) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)

  • Stack traces always include execrpc().
  • When ASE is terminating the infected process, it hits an exception:  

FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: signal 0 hit while handling a previously hit signal. The server cannot continue and will shut down.

  • ASE server shuts down.

ueshutdown: exiting
