Symptom
- Error when opening a Story using a URL
- When using URL API with Custom Link to a Story, it fails.
- When building a url to a Story using SAP Analytics Cloud URL API, and adding Filter values at the end of the url, it fails with the following error, if the beginning of the URL is using a custom link:
"This page isn’t working. If the problem continues, contact the site owner. HTTP ERROR 400"
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- In SAP Analytics Cloud, create a Story.
- In Story Sharing, create a Custom link to the Story.
- Use the Custom link, and add Filter values at the end of the URL to open the Story.
It fails with the error:
"This page isn’t working. If the problem continues, contact the site owner. HTTP ERROR 400"
Cause
- Custom link to a Story is not supported with SAP Analytics Cloud URL API.
- This is why when using the custom link when passing a Filter value to the Story in the url, it generates an error.
Resolution
- When using SAP Analytics Cloud URL API to pass Filter values to a Story within a URL, it is required to use the full Story url like:
https://<TENANT>/sap/fpa/ui/tenants/<TENANT_ID>/app.html#/story&/s/<STORY_ID>
