3275793 - Error 14126 followed by Error 707 - SAP Solution Manager on SAP ASE

Symptom

On SAP Solution Manager systems running ASE 160 SP03 PL11 and above, Error 707 is reported in the SAP ASE errorlog after ASE runs out of partition descriptors (Error 14126) at runtime.

  • Below message is reported in the ASE errorlog followed by Error 707 and a stacktrace:

Increase the config parameter 'number of open partitions' to avoid descriptor reuse. Reuse may result in performance degradation.

Error: 707, Severity: 20, State: 5
System error detected during attempt to free memory at address 0x0. Please consult the ASE error log for more details.
