Symptom
Although the Employee does not work on weekends, as shown in the Work Schedule, the Availability Calendar show the weekend as a Business Day.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign 2211 and higher.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Project Management - Resource Search.
- Search for the required Employee.
- Click Show Availability.
- Check the weekends for the selected Employee.
Cause
Employee was added to a project on DD.MM.YYYY with planned hours to be worked, set for the task, for the employee. At this time, the employee did not have a Work Schedule assigned so the spread of the planned work on the project was spread across all the days.
This action set Saturday and Sunday as non working days but the planned hours to be worked on, on the project are not redistributed automatically as mentioned in the documentation under the heading ‘Redistribute Planned Work for..’ provided in this Link.
Resolution
This is a case which can be corrected by the "Redistribute Planned Hours for -> Task Service/ Period Plan" action available in the resource calendar.
In order to fix this scenario, you can follow the steps below:
- Go to the Resource Management work center.
- Then go to the Resource Search.
- Search for the required Employee.
- Click Show Availability.
- Select the Task Service/Period Plan which has distribution on the weekends as well.
- Click "Redistribute Planned Hours for".
- Task Srvice/Period Plan.
- Click Save.
