• '[' error message appears with no more details when testing a connection to MS SQL Server using ODBC middleware in Information Design Tool.
• The issue started to occur after a patch upgrade.
• The issue is reproducible when using server middleware, when using local it works fine.
• The BI servers hosted on Linux machine.
• The odbc.ini file configured properly, the driver is pointing to the correct driver:
  odbc/8.0.2/sql/lib/CRsqls28.so
• The ConnectionServer traces has the following entry:
