3278479 - The added property in the BPC dimension is not updated in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):

• After you create a SAC model from the BPC data source, you add a new property of a dimension at the BPC side.
  However, when you run the import job, you find this new property is not updated to the SAC model.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022

Cause 1:

• You need to manually add a property with the same name at the SAC model.

Cause 2:

• You need to make some changes at the BPC side because the SAC re-loads the master data only when there is a new version (any change) compared with the past.

Cause 3:

• The property ID in BPC is different than the one in SAC.  In SAC, the property ID is auto-generated and the UI is showing the property description. Right now, there is no way to adjust the property ID in SAC after the initial import.
  As a result, if you delete a property and add it back with the same name, since the actual auto-generated property ID is changed, the import job would not be able to import the newly added back property anymore.

Resolution for Cause 1&2:

1. add the new property in the SAC model (make sure the property name is the same as the property ID in BPC)
2. make some changes at the BPC side (for example, change the value of this property for one member, add a dimension member) so a new load will be triggered when running the import job
3. run the import job again

Resolution for Cause 3:

• Create a new SAC model to consume the new property
  OR
• Create a new BPC property with a different ID and use this new property instead of the original property at the SAC side
