3279064 - Centralized Services: Inconsistencies with new duplicate Emergency Contact validation introduced in 2H 2022 release with 'Edit Details' option - CS2H2022

Validation occurs only when pencil icon or Edit details of duplicate records with switch Enable Centralized Services for Emergency Contact (Applicable for data imports from UI and API and saving changes on Editing UI) under Company System and Logo Settings. Validation is not happening with Edit details of unique records.

• Hire an employee with two duplicate emergency contacts and one unique contact (Please note: Centralized Services framework is not applicable for new hire page) or disable switch Enable Centralized Services for Emergency Contact (Applicable for data imports from UI and API and saving changes on Editing UI) then add duplicate emergency contacts in Employee Profile
• Enable switch Enable Centralized Services for Emergency Contact (Applicable for data imports from UI and API and saving changes on Editing UI); 2211 release
• Navigate to Employee Profile -> Emergency Contact portlet -> Click on pencil icon for editing Emergency Contact
• Scroll down and find the unique contact other than duplicate records and click on the "Edit details" button.
• Make changes to "Phone" field for the contact of unique contact
• Click on Save and no validation occurs
• Validation occurs only with Edit details of duplicate records; not with Edit details of other unique records

Save action on the Edit Details screen will only trigger the validation of that current emergency contact.

This is expected behavior as Save action on the Edit Details screen will only trigger the validation of that current emergency contact. So, only with duplicate records the validation occurs with Edit Details.
