3279431 - Custom BIRT report error when exporting to Excel

When exporting a Report Custom (with BIRT template), the resulting Excel file cannot be opened and shows the message "Excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid".

  • Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
    
    • Table Reporting

1. Login and go to Reporting
2. Run Custom BIRT report 
3. You will get the guardrails message so export it Offline

• Run Offline, choose Excel and download from Scheduled Reports

4. Download the file
5. Open the Excel
Result: Error (Excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid)

6. Try exporting it again but this time choose .CSV format
Result: CSV format is OK.

BIRT 2.6 is not compatible with JDK11 which is a universal upgrade across all of Bizx server types.

 Customers would need to upgrade to 4.3 if not yet upgraded.
