Symptom
In the 2H 2022 release the following enhancement was released, due to feedback from customers the deployment of this feature has changed in the Production Release.
RUL-6889 - Stable Transport and Import of Business Rules
- In the Preview Release this migration was automatically initiated for all existing rules as part of the Release Deployment.
- In the Production Release the migration will not be automatically initiated but instead can be manually run via the check RuleTransportStabilization in the check tool.
The check result will show all rules that should be migrated to the new technical requirements, to be stable in transport and import. - This allows you time to review the migration details in full and trigger the migration at a time that best suits your business needs.

Resolution
FAQ:
Q: Will the Migration be automatically triggered in Production Instances?
A: No, as stated above the migration will not be automatically initiated as part of the Production Release. You can choose to manually trigger the migration in Production Instances via the check RuleTransportStabilization in the check tool.
Q: Why can’t I see the Quick Fix Option in the Check Tool?
A: To see the Quick Fix option in the Check you must have the prerequisite permissions, the following Administrator Check Tool permissions:
- Access Check Tool
- Allow Check Tool Quick Fix
Q:Why is the “updated by” data in the Rule updated?
A: In order for the migration to be completed the rule must be updated with the new picklist logic, this requires a change to the rule and so the “updated by” audit data will be updated. In Preview this will show the change by "System System", as the migration was triggered as part of the release. In Production it will be the Admin User who executed the quick fix as part of the migration check. The “updated on” information will show the date the Quick Fix was performed.
Q: Can we revert to the original “updated by” data in the Rule after the migration has completed.
A: No, once the migration has completed for the rule, the original “updated by” data from before the migration can not be reverted and displayed.
Q: Why are some rules not able to be migrated by the check RuleTransportStabilization?
A: This can occur to various reason primarily a configuration issue exists with the rule. In order to migrate the rule, you must manually review the rule in Configure Business Rules and resolve the configuration issue. Once completed you can then rerun the check RuleTransportStabilization and continue to migrate the rule.
Q: How should rules be import after this migration?
A: For details on how to correctly import business rules after the migration, please review the following section of the guide:
Implementing Business Rules in SAP SuccessFactors: Importing Rules
