Symptom

  • IdocDBTableCleanupPeriodicAdvanced job on SAP NetWeaver JAVA systems running on SAP ASE database hangs and does not complete.

  • The underlying sql query identified to be slow on the database-side is:
    SELECT DISTINCT REF_IDOC_NUMBER FROM XI_IDOC_OUT_ACK WHERE CREATE_TIME <= ? AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM XI_IDOC_IN_MSG m WHERE XI_IDOC_OUT_ACK.REF_IDOC_NUMBER = m.IDOC_NUMBER)
  • All the recommendations from KBA 2706367 and SAP Note 3107705 are in place.
