Symptom

  • Cannot isql into Replication Server
  • Replication Server appears hung
  • ASE server hosting RSSD reports:

    SySAM: Failed to obtain license(s) for ASE_CORE feature from License Server ...
    SySAM: Cannot read data from license server system.
    SySAM:  The license server system appears to be running, but is not
    SySAM: responding.  If this persists, notify the System Administrator.
    SySAM: (The license server manager (lmgrd) and vendor daemon processes
    SySAM: should be terminated and restarted.)
    SySAM: License feature name:  ASE_CORE
    ...
    SySAM: FlexNet Licensing error:-16,10009.  System Error: 232 "Connection reset by peer"
    Error: 131274, Severity: 17, State: 1
