3281134 - Customer Demand is Not Created From Sales Order Due to Error: "Unit of measure deviates between schedule lines"

Symptom

You have released a sales order containing a sales kit, but the customer demand is not created due to Process Communication Error: "Unit of measure deviates between schedule lines".

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Go to the Sales Orders view.
  3. Search the order ABC, it is Open status. (ABC represents the ID of a sales order)
  4. Go to the Document Flow tab, you are able to see the process communciation error:- Sales Order ABC cannot create a Customer Demand.
  5. Go to the Application and user Management work center.
  6. Go to the Process Communication Errors view. 
  7. Search the order ABC, you can see the the main error is "Unit of measure deviates between schedule lines".

Cause

This is because the UoM is not maintained in the sales kit header. Follow the steps to check.

  • Go to the Product and Servicde Portfolio work center.
  • Go to the Kit Item List view.
  • Search and Select the Sales Kit XYZ (XYZ represents the Kit Header Product).
  • Click edit. You can observe the UOM is missing.

Resolution

You need to maintain the UoM in the Sales Kit Header Product in the Kit Item List.
