Symptom
Data pushed from SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is rejected in IBP with the rejection message:
Cannot update data; planning object of the attributes is invalid
Environment
SAP Integrated Business Planning (SCM-IBP)
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Reproducing the Issue
- Send data from SAC to IBP
- Rejection report shows rejection message:
"Cannot update data; planning object of the attributes is invalid"
Cause
When you import the data of multiple key figures, all key figures have to be on the same planning level within one import transaction. Note that importing data into scenarios is not supported, and data is always written in the baseline version of the key figure.
You can import new planning object data from SAP Analytics Cloud to SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain only if you have previously created the relevant data in SAP IBP. You need to define initial values for the fields of the planning object in SAP IBP. The service can overwrite these values with the new ones which you import from SAP Analytics Cloud.
If you created the target planning object in SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel, you need to add values to the key figures of the planning object so you can import data with the service.
The transaction ID of the request body must be unique. This unique ID must be maximum 60 characters long.
Resolution
Be sure that you have previously created the relevant data in SAP IBP. You need to define initial values for the fields of the planning object in SAP IBP. The service can overwrite these values with the new ones which you import from SAP Analytics Cloud.
If you created the target planning object in SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel, be sure to to add values to the key figures of the planning object so you can import data with the service.
