3283518 - PIRs (VSE) are not displayed in Monitor Material Coverage app

Symptom

When you access the Monitor Material Coverage app, you notice Planned Independent Requirements (VSE PIRs) are not displayed. When checking the Monitor stock / requirement list app (MD04) the PIRs are displayed under a Preplanning segment.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Monitor Material Coverage app.
  2. Choose a material from the list.
  3. Click on Manage Materials.
  4. PIRs are not displayed.

Cause

It is the SAP standard system design that the PIRs VSE are not considered by the Monitor Material Coverage app.

Resolution

The Monitor Material Coverage is the demand view on a material, and the VSE PIR's are not considered by the APP, because a VSE PIR is a planned shortage.

If you check the Monitor stock / requirement list app (MD04) for the same material, the PIRs are listed under a Preplanning segment.

This mean that it doesn't affect the stock on plant level or result in shortage in plant level

These rules define the scope of the shortage calculation, meaning the supply and demand elements to be considered have to be a relevant shortage.

If you want to see the exact view for all items you should use the Monitor Stock/Requirements List app, where you can display the most up-to-date stock and requirements situation.
