3283605 - "Execution of a Firefly query failed unexpectedly: Caught exception 42460: The hierarchy doesn't exist" in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Export of the model to a file fails with error in SAC.
• Error message: "Execution of a Firefly query failed unexpectedly: Caught exception 42460: The hierarchy doesn't exist"

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.21.11

1. Login to SAC.
2. Open the Model.
   
3. Select Workspace "Data Management".
4. Select "Export Data".
5. Select "Manage Existing Schedules".
6. Double click on the export job with status "Failed".
7. Select "Transform Log" on the left side.
8. Check the error: "Execution of a Firefly query failed unexpectedly: Caught exception : exception 42460: The hierarchy doesn't exist"

Changes have been made to the model, so the saved export query cannot grab the correct data structure anymore.

• Create a new export job.
• Based on the error detail for the failing export, the job failed to due dome change in the Model data itself.
• In this specific case, the error is: Execution of a Firefly query failed unexpectedly: \Caught exception : exception 42460: The hierarchy doesn't exist : The hierarchy doesn't exist : hierarchyName=All, fieldName=Version.ID, dimensions=[Version.ID, Version]
• Based on this, the issue was that hierarchy "All" no longer existed when the pre-defined query was being triggered.
• The saved export query is based on Calculations and Fact Data. When / if any changes are made to the model, the export job will need to be recreated since the saved export query is no longer grabbing the correct data structure which is what happened in this case.
• Then, when the job was re-created, the new query was created based on the new Model data and structure, therefore it worked again.
