3283648 - Error FINRE_UI_01007 "Value for field \_Plant\_Supplier-TradingPartner doesn't comply with validation rule TRADING_PARTNER."

Symptom

When posting journal entry with trading partner filled and if there is a validation rule for a filled trading partner(/_Plant/_Supplier-TradingPartner), an error message FINRE_UI_01007 still appear ("Value for field \_Plant\_Supplier-TradingPartner doesn’t comply with validation rule TRADING_PARTNER.") and the journal entry will not be posted.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a validation rule for a filled trading partner(/_Plant/_Supplier-TradingPartner)
  2. Open Post General Journal Entries App
  3. Enter all parameters with trading partner filled and click Simulate/Post

  4. Error is received:

    "Value for field \_Plant\_Supplier-TradingPartner doesn’t comply with validation rule TRADING_PARTNER.

    Message no. FINRE_UI_01007"


Cause

The field PartnerCompany that highlighted at the top of below screenshot is the actual Trading Partner No in the journal entry item. Technically this is the field VBUND in the BSEG structure.

The second trading partner depicted as “/_Plant/_Supplier-Trading Partner” means, that the validation rule accesses the CDS Views I_Plant using the plant information in the current journal entry item and retrieves the Trading Partner No from the associated supplier of the plant.

The error should be caused by no plant is specified in the journal entry item or no supplier in maintained for this plant.

 

Resolution

System works as designed.
Check if correct "Trading Partner" selected in your validation/substitution rule.
