3285217 - DSI shuts down with error: 16908568 and error: -99999 for one specific object - SAP SRS

Symptom

DSI shuts down with the following errors in the repserver log:

ERROR #1027 DSI EXEC(166(1) dataserver.dbname) - eneric/dsi/dsiutil.c(451)
    Open Client Client-Library error: Error: 16908568, Severity 1 -- 'blk_rowxfer(): blk layer: internal BLK-Library error: No value or default value available and NULL not allowed.  col = xx row = xxx.'.
ERROR #1027 DSI EXEC(166(1) dataserver.dbname) - eneric/dsi/dsiutil.c(451)
    Open Client Client-Library error: Error: -99999, Severity 5 -- 'blk_rowxfer() failed for table [#tablename]'.
ERROR #5275 DSI EXEC(166(1) dataserver.dbname) - eneric/dsi/dsiutil.c(481)
    The DSI thread could not make a connection to dataserver.dbname and configuration parameter dsi_non_blocking_commit is on. DSI will be restarted to prevent data loss.
