Symptom
This knowledge base article (KBA) outlines the procedure for deleting objects in SAP Field Service Management by sending a deletion request from an ERP system using the transaction /PACG/ECM_SEND_DELRQ. The focus of this document is to impart best practices for transmitting such a request to the cloud. For additional information on Proaxia documentation, you may visit the provided documentation link.
Prerequisites and Constraints:
Recent enhancements to the transaction now facilitate the deletion of FSM objects by simply forwarding the FSM GUID to the cloud, an improvement from the previous method which relied on the less intuitive SAP ERP key. This change aims to streamline the deletion process.
System Version Requirements:
Ensure you are utilizing the following software versions to access this feature:
S/4 System
- S4PACG 300 SP 2 (complementary to SAP FSM release 2411)
- Message Broker 4.6 - Added handling for deletion in FSM of objects using their FSM guid instead of SAP key.
ECC System
- PACG 200 SP 15 / S4PACG 200 SP 15 (complementary to SAP FSM release 2411)
- Message Broker 4.6 - Added handling for deletion in FSM of objects using their FSM guid instead of SAP key.
Mapping Requirements:
In SAP Field Service Management, there exists an "Identifiermap" internal table, which is crucial as it holds the mappings between FSM Objects and the ERP Keys. Although customers do not have direct access to this table, it serves as a fundamental component for deletion functionality. From a technical perspective, the presence of a record in this table indicates that an object exists simultaneously in both the FSM and ERP systems, which is a primary requirement for deletion eligibility.
Additional Considerations:
Objects that have been created in FSM but have not synchronized with the ERP system may be missing from the mapping table, and thus cannot be subjected to deletion from the ERP system. Please note that blocked objects within SAP FSM can also be deleted using the outlined approach. However, it is essential to ensure that a corresponding mapping record exists in the mentioned table.
