Symptom
- Is it possible to remove the delete option from Personal Data Collection and Manage Pending Hires?
- Delete option for new hires and managers during Personal Data Collection and Manage Pending Hires should be hidden.
- External users shouldn't be able to remove a section during Personal Data Collection step.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Personal Data Collection or Manage Pending Hires.
- Begin filling out the Basic Information section for the onboardee.
- Observe that for some fields or portlets (e.g., Payment Information, custom MDF objects), a Trash icon appears to the right of the section or field.
- This indicates that the user has the "Delete" permission for the corresponding object.
Resolution
For sections created as MDF Objects (via Configure Object Definition – e.g., PaymentInformationV3, custom portlets), it is possible to manage their visibility and functionality through permissions. These objects are typically controlled via Miscellaneous Permissions in Role-Based Permission (RBP) settings.
To disable the Trash icon for such objects:
- Go to Manage Permission Roles.
- Select the relevant role.
- Expand the Miscellaneous Permissions section (or any other permission section used when the object was created).
- Locate the specific MDF object.
- Uncheck the "Delete" permission for that object.
By removing the delete permission, the Trash icon will no longer be available to users in areas where the object is used (e.g., Personal Data Collection, Manage Pending Hires).
Important Note: For sections or fields that were not created as MDF Objects, the Trash icon cannot be controlled via Role-Based Permissions (RBP). As a result, it will remain visible and active for users.
