Symptom
The ability to replace the standard SAP Privacy Statement with either a custom privacy statement or not privacy statement is being phased out.
Background: In May 2018, SAP introduced two privacy policy display options in addition to the default option (1) "SAP Ariba Privacy Statement" to allow Business Network suppliers to either display (2) a “Custom Privacy Statement”, or (3) “No Privacy Statement" to their users (non-administrator account users) in the Business Network user interface. Along with removing privacy policy display options (2) and (3), SAP will simplify the presentation of the consent and SAP Business Network Privacy Statement to non-administrator users.
We will inform you once the date of removal is confirmed.
Please note:
- If you currently use privacy policy display options (2) or (3), you may continue to do so until such options are removed. However, new implementation of options (2) and (3) is blocked as of the 2303 release. Further, if you revert the privacy policy display option to the default (1) and save that change, options (2) and (3) will thereafter not be available to your account.
- NO action is required for SAP Business Network suppliers currently using options (2) or (3); after these additional display options have been removed, at next login, non-administrator users of your account will be presented with the SAP Business Network Privacy Statement and the related consent.
- If you are currently using option (2), Custom Privacy Statement, your custom privacy statement will no longer be visible to your users via the SAP Business Network after the option is removed in a future release.
- Going forward, each customer should present applicable Custom Privacy Statements in the manner they determine most effective and necessary outside of SAP Business Network solutions.
