3289170 - Failure with signal 6 or11 when rollbacking a transaction , stack in mem_memFree() - SRS

Symptom

  • Repeated failures of SRS on runtime with heavy workload.
  • DSI tries to rollback a transaction.  Different rollback scenarios observed:
    • ASE deadlock
      ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(113(2) servername.database) - neric/dsi/dsiqmint.c(4870)
      Message from server: Message: 1205, State 1, Severity 13 -- 'Your server command (family id #0, process id #7601) encountered a deadlock situation. Please re-run your command.'
    • Concurrent REORG REBUILD
      ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(113(1) servername.database) - eneric/dsi/dsiutil.c(451)
      Message from server: Message: 8233, State 1, Severity 16 -- 'REORG WITH ONLINE operation is in progress on the object 'mytable' in database 'database'. Retry your query later.'
    • Concurrent CREATE INDEX:
      ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(113(1) servername.database) - eneric/dsi/dsiutil.c(451)
      Message from server: Message: 8233, State 1, Severity 16 -- 'CREATE INDEX WITH ONLINE operation is in progress on the object 'mytable' in database 'database'. Retry your query later.'
  • RepServer crashes due to a DSI EXEC failure with Signal 11 or Signal 6 in the function mem_memFree().  Typical stack trace contains:
    mem_memFree
    mem_free
    cm_cancel_cmd_2
    cm_cancel_cmd
    cm_rollback_xact
    cm_giveup_connection
    _dsi_qm_cmd_fail
    dsie_ProcessMsgFromSched
    srv__start_function
