3289216 - Technical error in all data actions after the transport in in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC)

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):

• You transport the data actions from a source system to a target system.
• After that, when you run the data actions in the target system, they fail with a technical error.
• When you open the data actions that fail, you may see a validation error: This data action had some error last time it was saved. Check the general settings, steps, and parameters for validation error, and then try saving again.
• After you resave the data action, it can be executed successfully.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

There are several possible root causes:

• Model was changed after the data action had been created. So this validation error occurred.
• The models used in the data actions in the source system and the target system of the transport are not exactly the same. You only transported the data actions and did not transport the models, which caused inconsistency.
• The SAC version of the source system when the data actions were exported and the SAC version of the target system when the data actions were imported are not the same (even though the major SAC version is the same, the different patch versions may still lead to this issue)

The basic resolution is to re-save all data actions which have a validation error.

Another resolution is to re-import the data actions with the models with the following 2 options turning on:

• Update existing object
• Drop objects
