3289573 - Conversion error between two character sets after Mapping Import

Symptom

In your SAP Netweaver Process Integration system, After importing a mapping, you experience an error in your RFC scenario which utilizes a decimal to string function module:

Returning to application. Exception: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: Conversion error between two character sets.

Data Cache Refreshes do not resolve the issue.
